What the teleporter target of Folia and Quagmiris holds and how to start an outpost there, with three in-game seeds.
The Rusty Oil Asteroid sits at the far end of the start teleporter in both the Folia Cluster and the Quagmiris Cluster, four hexes from the start. The game describes it as a rusty world with an oily core, where Duplicants must work through rust and ocean to reach the oil.
Duplicants arrive in a sandstone pocket with a supply teleporter pair. The same seed number produces the same Rusty Oil Asteroid in both clusters: the three sample seeds below came out identical in the Folia and Quagmiris runs.

Strengths
- Oil Reservoirs in the oil wells biome: an Oil Well pumps Crude Oil for petroleum and plastics without an oil biome at home.
- A Liquid Sulfur Geyser on every sample seed, 1.1 to 1.6 kg/s on average, the input for sulfur-based industry.
- Lead, 260 to 470 tonnes, and copper ore, 240 to 430 tonnes.
- Boon rooms on all three seeds: beds, a Microbe Musher, an Electric Grill and a Ration Box, plus planter boxes or an outhouse, so the first crew can live there at once.
Weaknesses
- Very little metal ore apart from lead and copper; iron ore stays under 100 tonnes.
- Surface oceans of salt water flood careless digging.
- Slicksters (Slickster) and oil mean heat near the core.
What to target first after landing
- Walk through the teleporter with two Duplicants and use the boon rooms as their base.
- Find the oil wells biome and cap a reservoir with an Oil Well.
- Pipe the Liquid Sulfur Geyser into storage before it floods its cave.
- Send oil and sulfur home with the supply teleporter or by rocket.
Surviving the asteroid
The outpost needs only what the boon rooms and the sandstone pocket give at first. Bring algae or an oxygen source, keep the oceans sealed, and watch the oil field's heat.

Role in the colony
The Rusty Oil Asteroid is the oil and sulfur supply of the Folia and Quagmiris colonies. Reach it early through the teleporter, then build the oil well and plastics line there or ship crude oil home.
