Radioactive Swamp Asteroid guide: the most common teleporter world
AsteroidsMedium
Swamp, rust, forest and uranium behind the Terra, Badlands, Oasisse, Volcanea and Skewed teleporters, with in-game seeds.
The Radioactive Swamp Asteroid is the teleporter world of five Spaced Out! clusters. Its 160 × 176 cells mix swamp, four or more rust biomes, three or more slushy tundras, hot and normal forests, steamy marshes, radioactive biomes, uranium fields and a frozen core. The game describes it as largely swampy and partially frozen with a great deal of rust. It is the place a classic-style start gets cobalt, cold water and uranium.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Size | 160 × 176 cells |
| Where you find it | The Terra Cluster, The Badlands Cluster, Oasisse Cluster, Volcanea Cluster and Skewed Asteroid clusters, three hexes from the start; reached through the start teleporter or by rocket. |
| Arrival | A Duplicant teleporter from the start asteroid lands here next to a supply teleporter pair, with boon rooms (bedroom, washroom, power, kitchen, well or farm) on most seeds. |
| Biomes | Swamp arrival area and swamp, rust, slushy tundras, a frozen core, three to five hot forests, two or three forests, steamy hot marshes, radioactive biomes and uranium fields. |
| Guaranteed | An AETN heat sink in the tundra, Carbon Dioxide Geysers in the uranium fields, tries at a Cool Slush Geyser and a Cool Salt Slush Geyser, and rolls from metal volcanoes and water vents. |
| Peak light and radiation | 35,000 lux of sunlight and 125 rads of cosmic radiation at the surface. |
| World traits | Always exactly two random traits. |
Strengths
- Cold water: slush geysers rolled on every sample, including the fixed Skewed version.
- Cobalt Ore, 330 to 420 tonnes, and Rust, 500 to 1,050 tonnes.
- An AETN in the tundra and a mix of forest, swamp and tundra food plants: Nosh Sprout, Sleet Wheat, Dasha Saltvine, Bog Bucket.
- Metal volcanoes on every sample: cobalt, gold, iron, aluminum or copper.
Weaknesses
- Radioactive biomes and uranium fields.
- Swamp germs around the arrival area.
What to target first after landing
- Teleport over, wash at the arrival, purify water before drinking.
- Tap the nearest slush geyser for water and cooling.
- Use the AETN as the cooling core of an industry block.
- Mine cobalt ore and send it home through the supply teleporter.
Surviving the asteroid
Seal the radioactive biomes and keep the outpost on the swamp and forest side.

Role in the colony
The Radioactive Swamp Asteroid is where most classic-style Spaced Out! colonies start radbolt research and get cobalt. Its AETN and slush geysers make it a good place for a cooled industry block.
