This species of the Laminariales order is composed of vertical stems supported by structural vines. What appear to be leaves are actually Kelpoles, aquatic critters that consume aeronutrients present in the Tower Kelp's hollow stalk.
Tower Kelp stalks that fail to attract these natural pressure regulators will collapse before reaching maturation.
